15th Annual Archives Month Conference Video

On October 7, 2010 the 15th Annual Archives Month Conference took place at Oheka Castle, the once magnificent home of financier and philanthropist Otto Hermann Kahn.  The castle which turned into a ruin due to years of neglect, has been returned to its former splendor by developer, Gary Melius.

This year’s  Conference theme was “Long Island Entertainers and Their Legacies,” which focused on Long Islanders who have not only entertained us, but whose philanthropic activities have helped those in need.

Guest speakers included Michael Cogswell, Director of the Louis Armstrong House Museum, Geri Solomon, Assistant Dean of Special Collections, Hofstra University, Joan & Donald E. Axinn Library, and Tony Traguardo, Archivist of the Long Island Music Hall of Fame.
